Getting started & your account
Accounts, sign-in trouble, security, and the personal preferences every operator sets once.
Accounts and signing in
How do I get an APEX account?
Two ways. If your company is new to APEX, click Create one on the sign-in screen, verify your email, and the console walks you through creating your workspace (it takes about 30 seconds to provision). If your company already uses APEX, ask a workspace owner or admin to add you under Team → Members — you’ll receive an invitation email with a link that is valid for 7 days. See: Getting Started.
I forgot my password — how do I reset it?
Click Forgot password? on the sign-in screen and enter your email. If an account exists, you’ll get a reset link that expires in 1 hour. Setting a new password also signs you out of every other session and clears any account lockout, so it’s the fastest recovery for most sign-in trouble.
My password is right, but I still see “Invalid email or password.”
Symptom: you’re sure the password is correct, but sign-in keeps failing with the same generic message. Cause: after 5 failed attempts, APEX locks the account for 15 minutes — and it shows the exact same message while locked, on purpose, so the screen never confirms to an attacker whether a password was right. Fix: wait 15 minutes and try again, or use Forgot password? — resetting your password clears the lockout immediately.
I get “Too many attempts. Please try again in a minute.”
Symptom: the sign-in screen refuses before you even finish trying. Cause: too many sign-in attempts arrived from your network in a short burst — this is a per-network throttle, separate from the account lockout. Fix: wait a minute and try once, carefully.
I never clicked the verification email — now I can’t sign in.
New accounts must verify their email before the first sign-in; the verification link expires in 24 hours. If yours expired or never arrived, enter your email on the sign-in screen, attempt a sign-in, and click Resend verification email under the error message. Check spam if it doesn’t show up within a few minutes.
Two-factor authentication
How do I turn on two-factor authentication?
Open Settings → Security and click Set up two-factor. Scan the QR code with any authenticator app (1Password, Google Authenticator, and similar), enter the 6-digit code to confirm, and — most importantly — save the recovery codes shown at the end. They are shown once and never again. From then on, sign-in asks for a 6-digit code after your password.
I lost my phone (or authenticator app) — how do I sign in?
Enter one of your recovery codes in the Authentication code field at sign-in. Each code works exactly once. Once you’re in, go to Settings → Security to regenerate a fresh set (it asks for your password, and the old codes stop working). If you have no recovery codes left, you cannot get in on your own — contact the 3442 Labs support team.
Language and appearance
How do I switch APEX to Spanish (or back to English)?
Open Settings → Language and pick your language. The console re-renders in your language
right away and confirms — “Language updated.” The preference is saved to your browser, so it
holds on this device. Note that some data-driven labels — KPI strips and
status pills like IN WORK or ON HAND — stay in English regardless of the language setting.
How do I turn on dark mode?
Click your account card at the bottom of the sidebar and use the Appearance toggle in the menu — light or dark. The choice is remembered per browser. (This menu’s labels appear in English in both languages.)
Workspace basics
What is a “workspace”?
Your company’s own isolated environment in APEX — its own database, members, branding, and plugins. It’s created once during onboarding, and the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar always shows which workspace you’re working in. See: Getting Started.
How do I sign out — including on other devices?
Sign out lives in the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar. To sign out everywhere — say, after losing a laptop — use Settings → Security → Sign out of all sessions: every device signed in as you, including the current one, has to sign in again.
What devices does APEX run on?
The console is built for desktop workstations — that’s where order entry, accounting, and quoting live. For the warehouse floor there’s a dedicated phone app for receiving, issuing, counting, and inspection photos. See: The APEX mobile app.
How do I report a bug or suggest an improvement?
Open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Send feedback. You can flag a bug, an idea, or a question; the report attaches the page you’re on, the element you point at, and an optional screenshot, so the team sees your exact context.
